The DS 16 sailboat was made out of fiberglass with either a fixed shallow keel or with a centerboard. But it is no longer manufactured. The centerboard model has an open front cuddy that could sleep two extremely friendly people on a warm summer night. The shallow keel model has an enclosed front cuddy that is meant for locking up your gear. As a one-man get away boat, the DS 16 may fit the bill. As soon as you take a crew you may find the Hunter 15, although shorter, will give you more room to move around. And, for sleeping under the stars, a tent will give you better protection against flying people eaters anyway.
