There are six distinct classification of sailboats. We have included a brief description of each to help you decide which boat is right for you. You will find that our new and used sailboat inventory is described using one of these classifications.
1. Wet Beginner Sailboats
You sit on the deck or the floor and can expect to get wet from the spray of the water most of the time. But the boat is easily managed and good for novices and can be fun for those who are more advanced.
2. Wet Advanced Sailboats
Seating as above but the boat is more demanding and might be slightly overpowering for a novice. But anyone can learn and dumping this kind of boat is often part of the fun because it will be easy to right.

3. Dry Beginnner Sailboats
You sit on a seat or on the gunwhale and you will stay dry most of the time, weather permitting, but anyone can start off in them and feel relatively safe.
4. Dry Advanced Sailboats
Seating as dry beginners, but you will need some sailing skills to control the sails and the rudder at the same time. But again, anyone can learn and the dry boats are usually much more stable than the wet ones but when these boats tip over they will be harder to bring back up and for some you may need outside assistance.

5. Cabin Sailboats
Stay dry for sure. These have either a small cuddy for storage or a full size cabin for over-night accommodation. We at Quiet Waters only deal in trailerable cabin boats up to and including 25 ft.

6. Catamaran Sailboats
Although the same basic priciples are used for catamaran sailing and monohull sailing there are a few differences. With the stability of its wide stance comes added sail area for more performance. Enjoy a nice peaceful cruise, or when the wind picks up, an exhilarating ride.
